Madeline was absolutely great at the dentist, letting them do whatever they wanted! It helped that the hygienist was amazing with Madeline and that Madagascar was playing on a flat screen on the ceiling. We went to Southern Maine Pediatric Dentistry and I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a dentist for their kids!
From February 6 to the 27th I will be traveling to the town of San Pedro La Laguna, Guatemala which is located on beautiful Lake Atitlan. Since I don't know how to speak Spanish I will be attending a Spanish school Flor del Maíz for the first week, but I do have to get from Guatemala City to San Pedro and spend a weekend there before my studies start. Should be interesting, but I can make up some words pretty well that sound like spanish, either that or I'll talk very slow and loud. I will also be volunteering at a local nursery that works on environmental education and reforestation projects there. I will also explore some of the other villages around the lake and plan to try hiking up Volcán San Pedro which is in the photo below.
